Make Civicrm default drupal start page
February 14, 2011, 02:23:10 pm
I'm sure this question has been answered but after several searches and flipping through several pages I don't see it.

How do I make the Civicrm page be the default starting page for a Drupal install?

i.e. When I go to the website I just want to see civicrm, not the drupal welcome page.

Check the login toboggan module on drupal.org which allow you to control redirect after login.

Thanks.  I went to drupal.org to check it out.  It looks like it will do the trick as well as help with some other housekeeping.  Thanks!

I am not sure Logintoboggan can do that. I use Login Destination (http://drupal.org/project/login_destination), setting it to always redirect to the URL civicrm/dashboard.

Just remember to uncheck "Return user to where he/she came from." under "Destination URL settings".

If you want CiviCRM to be set to the landing page then you can but it assumes that you have logged in. you can set up a custom "access Denied" page that i use to instruct people to log in by creating a page then noting the "node" number, go to Administer -> site configuration -> error reporting and you put the node number (e.g. Node/2) and it will show on the landing page if people haven't logged in. If you set the password and login to be remembered then all you need to do is go to Administer -> Site Configuration -> Site Information and then at the bottom it says "default front page" in there you can put civicrm/dashboard and it will put that as the landing page. That is how I did it.

Of course, that's a much simpler solution - to just set civicrm/dashboard as "default front page". The added bonus is that the logo in the upper left corner now goes to civicrm/dashboard, in stead of Drupal's front page. Since my site is only for CiviCRM that is so much better.

Thanks Chelcone!
