Hello all,
i'm a bit new to CiviCRM.
If my question has been answered before feel free to leave a rude reply.

I am wanting to automate the process of announcing an event with a mass email.
I want to create a mail template that has either tokens or short codes that can fill out thing's like registration url and event date automatically instead of having to fill this out by hand.

Can anyone point me in the direction of how it might be achieved?

Hi,

Unfortunately, it doesn't exist yet. That has been discussed sometimes ago and wouldn't be too difficult to add tokens that fetch an event info to fill the date, title, registration link...

The issue was that so far the token either depends from the install (eg always the same) or from the contact). This one would depend of the event you want to promote, and would need to "do something" to let the user choose the event and use it in the token.

Might be a make it happen project if there is enough traction and people willing to contribute.

Hi,

Suggest your dev to come in this forum and discuss what he wants to implement and how. Might benefit from the community's ideas and find shortcuts or better ergonomy.
