patch applied for 3.4. will be in the next alpha release. thanx for stepping up. If other folks can test and ensure it works in their install that would be great!

thanx

Tested on development site - seems to work really well - I particularly like the idea of being able to register someone from their contact record - very neat.

Not tested on live site as yet as we have stuff going on that makes that scary - once these events are over I'll give it a go.

I still like going though membership / contribution pages - incidentally no need to actually charge anyone. This is because we can set up different memberships for different sub-types of contact - and include a profile for custom data that is distinct to those contact types - if a user is created from a drupal registration it is always individual and not a sub-type - I could be wrong.

Great contribution - we need an emoticon of someone cheering!

Has anyone found an easy way to do this in Drupal 7? It may seem like a newb question, but I just spent the last few hours pulling my hair out trying to figure this out with no luck........I'm trying to simply add a CAPTCHA field to the user registration.....I have version 7 of both Drupal and CAPTCHA. You'ld think this was easy, especially because Drupal allows you to add the "user_registration" as a CAPTCHA point. Please, any help is appreciated...preferably, step by step as this simple task is getting to be too much! Thanks!

Ash

Hey gang!  My site just got suspended due to fraudulent transactions from card testing so this is a big issue for me.  I'm trying to enable RECaptcha on forms that do not use a Drupal registration option but it does not seem to be working at all?  Trying in this both versions.  3.21 and 3.4.

Public and Private keys are entered into Misc. Settings and RECaptcha is enabled on the profile.

Any ideas why it's not showing up at all?

Thanks,
Annalee

1. double check the public/private keys

2. does the recaptcha work on the profile by itself

3. If no luck with the above 2, try to reproduce on demo (feel free to use your keys temporarily)

Lobo,

I tested my keys on my site and no joy just using the profile or the event registration form.  However, it works fine on the demo site.  So...what is different?  The only thing I see at the moment is we have SSL certificate enabled.

I've seen this work before on this site in an earlier version (years ago) so I'm not sure what has changed other than the SSL.  Any ideas about what I need to do to get it to work on my production site?

Thanks,
Annalee

Re: Conflict between Drupal captcha and profiles that require registration

Lobo,

That was a big help, thank you.  However....I see it enabled in my profile but not the form.  I think this might be the problem but I'm asking the question.

If I am not using a contacts or individual profile on my registration form is it true that there is no way to enable recaptcha for my registration forms?  Here are my 3 cases.

1.  On event registration forms, I only have a participant profile.  The recaptcha is not working.
2.  On donation forms, I am not using any profile at all.  Recaptcha cannot be enabled or is there a workaround?
3.  On membership forms, I have a member profile which is enabled but I see a note that this cannot be used on forms that create a drupal user.

In my 3 cases above, is there no way to enable recaptcha?  And if I had to add some sort of profile to get at least the event & donation forms enabled, what type of profile must it be and how many fields are required?

Thanks,
Annalee

1. can you reproduce on drupal.demo. We believe it should work

2. No workaround for this (w/o custom coding / hook implementation)

3. can you point us to the note on drupal.demo.civicrm.org

Lobo,

1.  Tested on demo and it's working here http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/register?reset=1&id=15 but not on my test site running 3.4 here https://devtest.handson.org/civicrm/event/register?reset=1&id=67  I also notice that I do not see the Use-Profile Create Mode option on my participant profile so I can't see it working in profile alone but it seems to be working on other profiles.

2. Okay...will have to add some a profile to my donation forms.

3.  The note I'm referring to is located in the profile settings on the checkbox where you enable Recaptcha.  Here is the text I was referring to.:

reCAPTCHA is also not available when a profile is used inside the User Registration and My Account screens.

Lastly, I need to remove my recaptcha keys from the demo site because those are my actual keys for my handson.org site so please let me know when you've finished looking at demo so I can remove them or delete them when you're done.

Thanks,
Annalee

1. participant profiles (or other component profiles cannot be used in create mode)

3. Yes, u cannot use civicrm recaptcha on a drupal form. you can use drupal's captcha on the reg form, but you cannot use civicrm to create a cms user (this has been fixed in 3.4)

please go ahead and delete your recaptcha keys

Keys deleted.  So we still don't know why the participant profile is NOT working on my test site which is running 3.4.
