Editing a participant profile data set?
February 16, 2011, 05:06:35 pm
I created a custom group for gathering attendee data. Created a profile using that set and added that profile to the registration form. The data is being collected just fine and appears in the Participant Record.

What I (obviously) missed is a way to edit that data in case a correction is needed? I've looked through the Wiki and can't *quite* ferret out the answer I need.

When I try to add the custom profile form to a menu item in either Edit or Search mode, I get an error message that it's not available for profiles of more than one record type.

I'm hoping someone here can assist, 'cause I'm tired of banging my head against the wall.  ;)

Thank you!

If you have added participant related custom field then this fields (or this custom group)  will be available on participant registration form. Using same profile ( having those custom field ) do not make sense on edit or create profile mode. Since there will be no use of participant related field on create/edit profile mode.

You can use batch update via profile functionality for doing this .Following is documentation that will help you.

Rajan,

I added these fields to the online registration and the data appears in the participant record, but there is no way to edit that information in the participant record. When I tried to add these fields to the Name & Address profile, it said it would mess up the search ability (I don't remember the exact wording). It seems like I've collected data that can't be edited or exported. I can use search builder to find records that meet a criteria, but then I'd have to generate about 20 lists to get the groups of people that meet that criteria. I thought I'd be able to download a list of participants and their data that relates to the custom fields I created. I don't know if I did this wrong or just didn't understand the process.

Thanks,
B.

PS - I'll look at Batch Update via Profile, too. Thanks Sushant.

OK - Batch Update via Profile is going to do the trick, however not all the fields in the profile are appearing in the Batch Profile window (only the 1st 6). I'm guessing this has something to do with either the Custom Profile or the Custom Data fields themselves. If you can give me a shove in the right direction.....please??
