Session for forum.civicrm.org keeps expiring even though I select "forever" why?

I like this forum system to remember me / always have me logged in on my main desktop computer. Sometime after the upgrade of the software which powers this forum, THEN I started being logged out each morning. Again this morning, came to http://forum.civicrm.org/ and it showed me as logged in. Pressed the Firefox "Reload current page" and the UI flipped to logged out. As usual I have "forever" selected in the pick list of how long the session should last.

I suspect that this session cookie problem is preventing the "Show unread posts since last visit." link from working properly as when this "logged out / log back in" happens, once logged in successfully in the morning, always the "Show unread posts since last visit." link returns no results. Later in the day while successfully still logged in, I do see search results at that link.

Checking back now (10:35) and my "Forever" session had already expired. Between 7:44 and 10:35 "forever" happens?!

Hey, you found the value of infinity, well done! ;)

Got the same problem here, I was assuming that's because I'm changing IP (often happen when I chance place). Not sure at all.

Same problem here and my IP doesn't change. Perhaps this forum needs more RAM? ;)

I am trying now to stay logged in for a month. Perhaps just the "forever" option is broken.

Just checked back after restarting Firefox. Session cookie was correctly preserved, and the "Show new replies to your posts." link worked as it is suppose to. (shrug)

This problem fortunately seems to disappeared as mysteriously as it started. For the past few days I have not gotten logged out when I return to this site.

Same here but I am using "month" for the remember period.
