Hi, I wonder custom data -> custom fields with checkbox can achieve multiple selection for contributor like this attached picture?

Hi,

I'm new to civicrm but was trying to do the same thing, here's my solution but if anyone else has any other thoughts I'd be interested to hear theirs too!

I created 7 adv-multi select fields one for each day of the week with three options; 'Morning', 'Afternoon' & 'Evening' (Obviously you could have as many slots and call them what you like).

Then you could set them to be default all the options to assume that volunteers are available all the time and then remove the ones they aren't or default nothing and then select which slots they are available for.

If you use the multi select or adv-multi select then you can easily search for people who are available on one particular slot (say Monday morning) or you can find people who are available all day (IE Monday morning AND afternoon AND evening)

I've also got term-time and vacation availability (I thought I'd give option for 'Both/All year' in a normal single select but this makes searching harder as you have to search for term-time or all year) if you use a multi-select then you pick both options for those who are available all year then you can easily find those available during term only (IE term-time and all year) hope that was clear.

Anyway the screen shots make it more clear.

If anyone else has solutions I'd love to hear what you think of this one or hear yours!

Cheers,

Dave
