Joomla 1.6.0 and CiviCRM 4.0 Alpha
February 23, 2011, 10:03:17 am
Tried to deploy to a fresh webserver with Joomla 1.6 PHP 5.3.5 MySQL 5.5.8. It acts like it is going through the motions of installing but then does nothing. Debug mode turned on reports no errors while running scripts.  Is there an issue with the installer script in Alpha?  Tried the non PHP zip required version too just to be sure but considering I used XAMPP 1.7.4 to deploy the standard evironment it shouldn't be any issue with the webserver.  Please advise.

CiviCRM 4.0.alpha1 for joomla is not yet released. So you will have to wait for 1-2 days.

I take it the files posted to source forge yesterday morning for 4.0 and 3.4 were not ready for prime time?  I have the files and didn't acquire them by other means so I am wondering if I just happened across them before they were removed.  Thanks.

We had rolled alpha, but there was some issue with the joomla so we pulled it back, it was available for only few minutes. So I would suggest to wait for 1 -2 days. Before we release with the fix.

Saw it was posted again.  Got it and could not use the upload and install feature with Joomla 1.6, but I don't think it's a CiviCRM problem.

Was able to install via the Install From Directory feature by extracting the folder with the zip, I used the default tmp directory since I wanted to be sure about directory permissions.  Installed successfully. Now to do some customizing and testing.  I will report via the normal bug report methods on an issues I encounter.
