Integrating with Joomla's front-end
December 22, 2007, 07:41:53 pm
As novice both to CiviCRM and Joomla I have some primitive (maybe embarrassing) questions. I hope for your understanding.
I need quick solution to how to integrate CiviCRM in Joomla. I don't need to synchronize Joomla's contacts but maybe vice versa - CiviCRM's contacts should be pushed to Joomla instead (if it's possible, of course).
My CiviCRM site is planned to be the primary stuff to our club members where submission possibility and other allowed stuff could be easily accessible to new members.
I don't have any idea how to plait CiviCRM with Jomla's front-end. My attempt to integrate it creating new menu item was crashed but I believe there are other possibilities …
All stuff (explanations, ideas, links, references) will be greatly appreciated.

You can "Synchronize Users to Contacts" using that menu item in the Administer CiviCRM >> Manage menu:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Synchronize+Users-to-Contacts

This function creates a CiviCRM contact record for every existing registered Joomla user. Once this is done, CiviCRM will create contact records whenever a new Joomla user registers.

Other "front-end" integration is usually accomplished using CiviCRM Profiles. You may want to review this section and see what functionality you can use:
