Various, but perhaps just my install
February 25, 2011, 08:34:59 am
I'm not sure my svn install is working properly as I had an error when first trying to enable CiviCRM due to an incorrect value for $civicrm_root. I corrected that and was able to enable. I've also disabled and re-enabled CiviCRM to try to fix the following:

No CiviCRM menu item appears.

I can navigate to all of the Drupal admin items except People. When I go there, I get
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16 bytes) in /Users/josephmurray/Sites/civicrm/4.0.alpha1/packages/PEAR.php on line 884

Note that the Drupal install is at /Users/josephmurray/Sites/drupal-7.0, and there is a symbolic link from /Users/josephmurray/Sites/drupal-7.0/sites/all/modules/civicrm to /Users/josephmurray/Sites/civicrm/4.0.alpha1, so the error appears to be CiviCRM, or at least how I installed it.

You must increase memory_limit.

Joe, did increasing the memory solve your problem? I'm seeing the same issue, and my memory limit seems to be more than adequate.

Increasing the memory did indeed solve this issue.

What's the value you ended up putting ? More than 128Mb ?!?

(am I the only one to find it very high) ?

I haven't played seriously with this setting to find the lowest that works. Some of this is that D7 has a larger need for memory than D6. I tossed it up to 512MB, and just tried bringing it down to 256MB. I'll post back if that is inadequate.
