Soft Credit best practices
February 28, 2011, 08:44:13 am
We are trying to figure out how folks are using the Soft Credit functionality.

Our current use is for situations where a 3rd Party (a foundation or a network like NetworkForGood) collects donations and delivers to us a check and the donor info.  In this case we record the contribution as coming from the 3rd Party and soft credit the individual contact.

When it comes time to communicate with the individual donor, the Soft Credit report presents us with only the Soft Credit Email and Soft Credit Phone.   Sometimes we do not have either of these data for a particular donor, and sometimes our preference is to send snail mail to the individual.  Is there a way to include mailing address data in this report?

If anyone has other best practices or workflows for dealing with these types of contributions, we would love to hear them.

Thanks.
