Helloo

I have a problem while trying to install the civicrm1.9 on my joomla 1.0.13 site
i got this error "Failed to move uploaded file to /media directory. "
eventhough the media directory is writable"777" and i installed other components on the same site.

can any one help me

1. this is a joomla install component error. looks like it is trying to move the file to "/media" which does not seem to be a valid path

2. ensure that you are doing an install from directory rather than install from a zip file

That's the error you usually get when you run out of memory. Like Lobo says, best thing is to install from directory, not using the j! installer.
