[Solved] - Changing the basic contact search results
February 28, 2011, 11:50:54 am
Saw this great posting - http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=5961.0 - which is exactly what I want to do.  I found the php code, moved that into my custom code folder that I set in Global Settings | Directories but I'm missing something.

It mentions that moving $YOURDEFAULTPROFILEID to the config object / database.

I seem to be missing two things?

What should $YOURDEFAULTPROFILEID be set to and where should it be set?

Thanks so much!

Matthew - This functionality has been "built-in" as of 3.2.
Set up a profile with the fields you want as search result columns. Visibility for each fields s/b Public Pages or Public and Listings and "Include in Search Results" s/b checked.

Now go to Administer > Configure > Global Settings > Search Settings and select your profile in the Default Contact Search Profile drop-down.

Find Contacts (search) will now display the columns specified in your profile (the 1st column will always be contact sort name - this column is included automatically).

Worked perfectly!

The more I use CiviCRM the more impressed I am and thanks so much for the quick response.
