Keeping Drupal, Mailing Lists and CiviCRM synchronized
March 02, 2011, 08:33:41 am
I have a client who is using mailman listsrv as a mailing list.  They need the ability send content to an email address (ie. listserv) to send mass emails.  Some of these subscribers will have a drupal account.  want to use civi profiles to collect information about subscribers beyond the list serve (ie. how did you hear about us, etc.).  now we have 3 user lists: listserv, drupal and civi.  there are solutions to the last two to create a drupal account, but what about integration with a listserv or IDEALLY using an email alias (with moderation) to submit to a civicrm group. Any thoughts on a sensible solution that is clean and ideally would not require development?

thanks!

S.

I have developed a mailman interface, needs 4 to 8 hours of work to be shared.

(mine tracks changes on the contacts and only sync when a contact is added/removed from the group).

It uses the job queue mobile so works even with big lists.

I think that someone else developed a tool as well, that might be ready to be used.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

I saw this too: http://drupal.org/project/user_mailman_register which may sync nicely with drupal and then perhaps we can use the native tools to sync drupal users to civi contacts.  Feels ugly, but i'll do some testing.

It would be great if anyone else has some code / suggestions.

Found some code - not sure if it will work with civicrm 3.3 ... http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Mailman+synchronization
