Price Set MaxCount Validation Problem
March 04, 2011, 04:44:57 am
I have an event for which the venue holds 100 people. I want to allow 90 full time attendees and 10 day pass attendees for each of the three days of the event.

I set up the price set for full registration to be 90.
I set up a radio button price set for the day passes (Th, Fri,Sat) to have MaxCount of 10 each.

When my key volunteers went to register for the event, after the 4th person registered for the event (Full) the other volunteers were given this message when they went to go to page 2 of the registration:

Quote
Please correct the following errors in the form fields below:

    * Only 10 Registrations available.

What did I do wrong and better yet, how do I fix it?

Thanks!
Barbara

Participant max count of the price field should not effect max number of participant configured for the event, it just limits the number of registration for that field only. Only participant count of price field get included in the number of event participants, if u don't specify participant count for price field will be considered as 1 participant for registration ( +additional participants, if any ).
Can u please describe your price set in details OR it would be great if you can setup this on CiviCRM demo.

BTW please do not post duplicate threads ( http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=18243.new;topicseen#new ) .

Sorry about the duplicate - I actually meant to come back and remove this solo post.  :-\

Here are the details for the Price Sets:

Full Registration Package - Checkbox
2 options: Full and Earlybird
Max Participants 90

Day Pass - Checkbox
3 options: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
I want each day to have no more than 10 registrants. I had set the Max Participants for each price option to 10, but when I did that, the users saw the errors.
Should I have set the max count for the field to 30 and each option at 10?

There are some other items in the price set, but those aren't causing any problems.

Its sounds like, For your price field 'Day Pass', each option ( Tursday, Friday, Saturday )  should have 'Max Participant' 10, so it will limit number of participant for that option.

Make sure any of price field/ price field option should not have 'Participant Count' ( ie it should be empty ).

Can u please set this on demo http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/
