Does CiviCRM have a front end?
May 10, 2007, 09:10:42 am
Hi everyone.

I'm using CiviCRM in Joomla, and I'm new to both.  The only place I can see CiviCRM show up is if a user logs in to the administrator back-end as an Administrator or a Super Administrator, then looks in the Components menu.  Is there no public part?

This might be the same question: According to the documentation at http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Creating+New+Contacts, a lot of those pages talk about "the Main CiviCRM screen" or "the CiviCRM Home page".  Where is that page? How do I get there?

Thanks a lot.

Tim - For Joomla, you expose selective functionality to the "front end" via menu links to Profiles, Online Contribution Pages, and Event Info/Registration pages. Profiles can be used to provide contact "signup" forms, searchable directories and more. Check out the Profiles section of the online documentation, and then refer to the the Joomla-specific instructions for linking profiles to your front-end.

Thanks Dave.  This is exactly what I was looking for and it worked great!
