Is the Member Join Date exposed to the membership receipts message templates?

If so, what's the smarty variable name? I've tried a few ($mem_join_date, $mem_since) to no avail.

And if not, how could I go about getting this exposed?

All memberships dates might be available.

Which membership signup you are doing, Online Membership Or Offline Membership Signup (from contact -> membership tab) ?

We use both on-line and off-line membership signups/renewals. I need to add the Join Date into the receipt message template for both of these.
