Attempt to edit profile _ Fatal error - "in not of the type positive" -
March 07, 2011, 03:44:55 pm
I have a customer who has added an edit profile page to the user side of their site.   All attempts to save the edit of a given profile result in above error.  Back button takes one back to the un-altered profile screen. return home, log you out.   profile info custom contact elements & tags.  The page is reached from their members joomla menu & is of standard type CIVICRM >> Profiles /Edit.    The profile populates what data is available for the logged in user.  Most fields are user & admin only.  There are drop downs for state, radio buttons for some elements.  Only 3 fields required.  their ID number (which is also their joomla user id), first name & last name (these should always pre-populate and seem to) as do state, email, phone & couple of other.   I get the error if I make no changes to the profile.

i got it to work once when I logged as admin. I had fewer fields populated, I added an id (as admin not a member, I didn't have one) and got the error.  I scrolled down to the state field chose a valid state and saved & it worked for me.

any ideas?
Wes

After further testing this, the difference seems to be whether one arrives at the profile edit page  with or with out 'www' in the url.  with 'www', and the save on the edit generates the error. without www and then it does not.

Modifying the base URL & resource URL to include www seems to have resolved this.  why everything else seems to work when they were defined without it, I dunno.  Also not sure whether defining without was manual or automatic.  Anyway - seems to work.  maybe it will be of use to someone else.  moving on.

Thanks,
Wes

I am having the same problem.  I have changed the base URL and the resource URL and it is still happening.  Anything else you did that made this work?

Thank you.

Jennifer
