CiviCRM dropdown items missing from Drupal administration menu
March 09, 2011, 01:08:35 pm
I had some items go missing for a role from the Drupal administration menu so I flushed all caches. This didn't help so I went to /admin/settings/admin_menu and clicked 'Wipe and rebuild'.

Now the CiviCRM item is there on the end but doesn't dropdown.

I've rebuilt the CiviCRM menu but there's no problem with that menu so it didn't help.

Has anyone had this happen? What can I do?

cheers
Ryan

civicrm appears as an item on the Drupal admin menu - click on it and it takes you in to civicrm and brings the civicrm admin menu

i think civicrm having a dropdown was a hangover from earlier versions.

Pete is right.  Back in 3.1, the CiviCRM options were many in the Drupal Admin Menu.  In 3.2 that changed and it's just the one.  I do believe you can edit your Admin Menu module to add more menu items if you want a few of them back.

This didn't happen after an upgrade - it happened from one day to the next. The items are still visible on our dev site running 3.2.3.

Does my 3.2.3 installation sense what is in future versions and try to act accordingly? Maybe it felt threatened.

I tend to doubt that, but perhaps a bit of encouragement for your aging CiviCRM is in order. :)

Anyhow the loss of this dropdown could be due to the rebuild of the admin menu, that's all. Seems it was left over from the 3.1 days of your install.
