error autofiling html format mails

I believe that we are having problems with autofiling any html format emails - Just as composing an Inbound Email manually by cutting and pasting into the rich text editor results in an 'dubious activity' message (solved by pasting as plain tesxt) so does the autofiling - and the text is truncated - so we know an email came not what it says!

The problem is that it rejects any html messages, but it does store any messages that have a plain text component or message.

Lots of people are sending HTML messages.

I understand that saving html in a database is not great news - one solution might be to attach the html message?

Or is there some setting somewhere that I have missed?

I suppose I could run a script to convert them all to plain text just before the autofiling script runs...

Or export from Thuderbird in Mbox format - then re-import into the email account to be processed (which is user-clumbsy)

i think rather than "working around" the problem we should tackle and fix the problem head on

would be great if you can investigate and figure out where/when/why html emails get rejected, that way we could fix the code there

For my future reference...

Time differences might make IRC difficult as does my ignorance of using IRC.

Should I drop in at random times or is there a best time to find you?
When  you say ping 'us' do you mean you Lobo? Presumably you use 'lobo' as nick.

Further experiments suggest that if there is an error it is not as originally thought.

I suspect the errors are all browser related - I am testing by accessing the processor through the browser -

since the processing is more or less correct (emails are filed to the right people and so on) I'll move on to testing using cron.

But it is 4:30 am, so it will be another time!

Runs fine from the comand line and cron - the errors had to do with testing in a browser (chrome) when logged in to Drupal as one user and runnig the tests using another drupal user.
