What happens to mailings in process during a reboot
March 14, 2011, 04:59:40 pm
Periodically our server needs to be rebooted after applying upgrades. If there is a mailing in process, is the system robust enough to recover and resend anything that was interrupted? We are currently on 1.9 but in the process of upgrading to 3.2.3

Hi,

On 3.2.3 probably not a problem to restart, the only issue I can think of are the lock files that might need to be manually removed.

The only time we need to reboot our server is when there is a new kernel (ie months between each reboot). We tend to stop running the crons, check that all the running ones are done (not long) and reboot. So we are sure we don't have problems.

What about stuff coming back from CiviSMTP, such as bounces and tracking?
