Membership types not tied to an organization?
December 29, 2007, 08:42:08 am
Using civimember I have one nationwide organisation that all local organisations are members of. Each individual is supposeed to be a member of a local organization.

We have two (maybe three) types of membership, one one-year membership and one rolling membership based on a monthly fee (and a third that we might add)

The only way I can see this working is to create two (or three) membership types for each local organization. What I would like is for new members to select a local organization (based on where you live) and then select membership type (based on how you want to pay). Would this be possible?

Currently in CiviCRM you define membership type for a Organization.  So i guess you can create separate membership pages which are specific to each organization.

check:
http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/admin/member/membershipType?reset=1
http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/admin/contribute?reset=1

I consider using civicrm and seem to have the same problem like perka.

So far I understood, a solution for perka's problem could be a workaround: Create a general organisation with the different types of membersip. To specify the real organisation add for each one a custom group that then has to be selected. This way you can filter by your sub-organizations.

Am I right?
