mail job_type "Child"
March 16, 2011, 03:37:38 pm
I'm looking in the civicrm_mailing_job and see job_type.  I see one row marked as "child" all other rows are null.  Can someone tell me (or point me to documentation) on what a child job_type is and how it is created/used?

Thanks

hey paul:

basically this came in 3.3 thanx to changx and emotive llc :)

basically the "parent" (or null for older jobs) are just the container. The "child" job is the one that does the actual delivery, i.e. thats the one that holds the email that are delivered

one parent can have multiple child jobs which can all run in parallel delivering mail and hence u can get a very significant increase in maildelivery depending on number of child jobs created
