E-mail confirmation of wait list status - where do I change verbiage?
March 18, 2011, 12:52:38 pm
I wanted to customize our registration confirmation e-mails, including the message that users get if they are being put on the wait list instead of being registered.

I went to Administer | Configure | Message Templates | System Workflow Messages and edited "Events - Registration Confirmation and Receipt", the online and off-line versions.

The additional language I put in those templates for people who successfully register showed up in their confirmation e-mails, but the language that I put in for those who are waitlisted doesn't show up; Civi appears to be sending them the default template.

Is there something else I should have changed?

Thanks!

I think the message template sent when waitlisted participants are moved to "Pending from waitlist" (i.e. they are invited to come back and confirm / complete their registration) is "Events - Registration Confirmation Invite".

That's not the message I'm looking for.  The one I'm trying to edit is the one they get when they register after the event is full, and it informs them that they're on the waiting list.

the waitlist code is in conditionals in that template. I'd check for a waitlist where u put the message and if it matched the "isOnWaitlist" conditional block. If i had to guess, the text was placed outside the condition

Ahh, I figured out the problem - I had edited the off-line templates but not the online.

Thanks!
