I am an end-user of Drupal/CiviCRM/Ubercart, and I am attempting to find an easy-to-implement solution to the following problem.

My organization has a Drupal website with CiviCRM backend.  Our membership page allows users to select a gift from a number of different premiums.  As you know, the premium is recorded as part of the corresponding CiviCRM contribution record.  We happen to sell the same items (and more) via an Ubercart storefront.

I would like to ease premium fulfillment by leveraging  the existing Ubercart order processing.  My idea is to query CiviCRM for premium information and contact name/address, then pass this to Ubercart as a free order (see Drupal.org uc_free_order).  Then I get to track stock levels and manage shipping via the Ubercart store administration.

Has anyone already done this, or something similar?  Are there any modules I'm missing which would query CiviCRM and input order information to Ubercart?  Any ideas, tips or tricks if I have to code my own solution?

There are 2 existing ubercart sync to Civi modules.
