We are using Civicrm 3.3.5/Joomla 1.5.22. I have imported records to test with. We have two membertypes: 12 mo. and 26 mo. memberships. Both are fixed periods.

I am trying to renew expired members. I select a member, click on the membership tab, and under 'more >' on the record, select 'renew'. CiviCRM says, 'For Expired memberships, renewing will create a membership period commencing from the 'Date Renewal Entered'.'

After I click 'Renew', CiviCRM throws an error: 'The membership cannot be saved. No valid membership status for given dates.'

I get the same results on the demo site, so I must be doing something wrong, but I do not understand what.
