Cannot install 4.0.beta1

Hi

The install screen "check requirements" comes back as fine, yet.

Building database schema and setup files...
Cannot open mysql://ausername:apassword@localhost/civicrm?new_link=true: DB Error: connect failed

The user has the following grants on the db in question:

GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, DROP, INDEX, ALTER, CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES, LOCK TABLES

Anything I'm missing?

Perhaps your Drupal is installed with mysqli and the default server (or port) is different for mysqli versus mysql. CiviCRM uses mysql so this sometimes can be an issue. You could ask your host about that.

I am the "host". Mysql & mysqli are both available on localhost and we have 50 odd civicrm's < 4 running on the same box.

Fixed. For some reason the civicrm install script was not parsing a mysql password containing a % character correctly. Odd as we have several passwords containing this string in use by previous civicrm-3.X installs already.
