Advanced Search - Everyone in group 'X', but not in tag 'Y' - how?
March 29, 2011, 12:50:40 pm
I have a number of searches that I need to perform that fit the following structure:

Find all individuals in group A, but without tag B

I cannot figure out how to make this work.  The documentation indicates I should be choosing "Individual", "Group", "=", "gid", then click "add another search field" & choose "Individual", "Tag", "!=", "tag id".

There are 1206 individuals in group A and 336 individuals with tag B, but the above search consistently returns 349 results, not the 870 I need...

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

hi,
the method you proposed in your post should work but probably an easier way to go about this would be to use the built-in custom search: click on search, select custom searches and then select include/exclude contacts in a group/tag.

hope this helps,
cynthia
