User/Membership login
March 29, 2011, 02:36:03 pm
Hi Forum,

Im new to CiviCRM but have been able to most things working the way I want it.

Im building a web for the homeschooling organization im involved in.

Im going to use CiviEvents for our events and that works really well.

The problem im having is when they register for the first time I want it to log into joomla but also CiviCRM so they can access content limited to joomla/CiviCRM users. Ive tried to use CiviCRM Profile for registration but cant get that to work.

Im not if it can work this way and if so how and if not what ideas can you suggest.

Thanks

Joseph

You can include a "user registration" option (or requirement) in your profiles. Check out this chapter (and the whole online book) for more info:

Hi There

I'm having a similar problem.

I've enabled the joomla user registration option in the profile I'm using for my contribution page, but when it's clicked users get a 404Component no found error message.

I'm using a fresh install of J16 and CiviCRm 4. User registration is enabled in J16.

www basecloud com au

and click Join / Renew > "If you already have an account, please login before completing this form. "

to see the error in practice.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Rainer

Rainer - Do you have a login page "enabled" for users? When I click the Login link it takes me to a User Registration page (not a login page). I think you may have to explicitly enable login page(s) for the site.

Yes I saw that form. But I think the issue is that the link on that page for "Already have an account? Click here to login first..." is trying to go to a general Joomla front-end login form which might not be enabled on your site.

Yep - there's already a login form enabled (a menu item). I've also created menu items for every other type of login / register page I can think of. Am I missing something?

OK - I can see the problem, I just don't know how to fix it.

The CiviCRM link is calling "index.php?option=com_user&view=login"

and the Joomla login page is "index.php?option=com_users&view=login"

What is of note is that there is a missing 's' in the CiviCRM link.

Where in the CiviCRM code can I fix this?

thx

can you please file an issue. we'll take a look and fix for the next release. I suspect this changed between J1.5 and J1.6

the 3 files i can see it in are:

CRM/Contribute/BAO/PCP.php
CRM/Contribute/Page/PCPInfo.php
CRM/Core/BAO/CMSUser.php

Thanks for that - issue raised, and adding the 's' to the link in those files fixed my problem!

Cheers
