PayPal Standard doesn't redirect to PayPal on Live pages

Hello,

We've just switched from Google Checkout to PayPal Standard as our payment processor on a site I'm working on. We are having a problem with Live contribution pages. When you get to the end of the contribution page and click the "Continue" button, we get sent to the confirmation page and an e-mail gets sent out that says we have completed the contribution, but we never get sent to the PayPal site. This doesn't happen in Test-Drive mode. We are using Drupal 5.4 and CiviCRM 1.9.

Does anybody have an idea what could cause this? Let me know if you need any information and I will gladly provide it.

can u check the site url of the live section of the payment processor you are using:

http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/admin/paymentProcessor?action=update&id=9&reset=1

most likely that url is wrong/returning immediately or something similar

The Site URL is set to this:

https://www.paypal.com/

It is the default. Is it wrong?

Not sure why you are not getting redirected to the paypal page. You will need to debug this on your server. The relevant file is: CRM/Core/Payment/PayPalImpl.php (function doTransferCheckout)

I suspect it is a system/setting issue. You might also want to try to reproduce the issue on the demo server. if reproducible, please file an issue (though i suspect not, since quite a few folks have this working)

The problem was actually with CiviMember. We forgot to add minimum donation values to each membership type, so when we used CiviContribute to process our memberships PayPal was being charged $0.
