List all events, plus # of participants registered for each
March 29, 2011, 02:39:57 pm
I need to be able to create a report that lists each event of a certain type, as well as the number participants currently registered for each event, and the max number of participants.

I also eventually need to be able to display the name, participant type & member type as well for each event, but that is not as urgent...

I've tried everything I could think of to create this on my own but have been unsuccessful.  Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If no one gives you pointers - then the other option that may help is to check out what you can do in Views.

I think u can reuse some reports like Event Income Report (Summary), Event Income Report (Detail) and instead of creating new report, modifying exciting one will be more easy.

I've finally gotten to this and I've got what I need working using Views - mostly.

I can list all participants for each date, with their assigned roles and any other descriptive info I want to display.  However, some - and only some - of the entries are duplicates.  There are some days with no dupes, and others where 1/2 or more of the entries are dupes.  I checked the participant listings in the main event record and they are not duplicated there...

I've tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot this - any thoughts?  How would I go about determining the source of the issue, and then resolve it?

Any & all advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

Eileen

You should be able to display the query in the view screen (there is a check box I think) & try it out in phpmyadmin / paste it here. Most probably the duplicates are because there are two records in one or more joined table (possibly memberships)

might the duplicates be the usual issue of them having multiple emails or phones and the filtering not being set to only show eg Primary or somesuch?

I did a quick and dirty test by looking at about 10 names that were displayed as duplicates & 10 that were not.  In each case, the names for which there are duplicates have both a "main" & "home" email address, while the non-dupes have only a "main" email address.

This issue has bothered me for a while - how can I prevent both the "home" & "main" addresses from being populated with the same address?  Also, while this would clearly fix the problem I am having with my Views display, is simply ensuring both the "home" & "main" addresses are not both populated the best fix, or should I be doing something different with my Views query?

Thanks for the help.

oh - so it is the multiple addresses? at the views end you can add a filter so it only pulls in Main?? at the CiviCRM end - has your primary location been set to Main - have all profiles used Main? If you only ever, ever, ever want Main you can disable (?) the other location types?

I do believe it is the multiple addresses.  I deleted the "home" email address from one of the duplicate Views entries and that fixed the problem - for that one person...

I'm simply going to delete all the "home" email addresses from the database.  If duplicates begin to show up again, I'll submit a different question to try and figure out why...

Thank you very much for your help!
