Evalutating CiviCRM/Contribute - Question
March 29, 2011, 05:37:03 pm
We are reviewing the use of this program and determining if it's a good fit.  We are coming from a DOS based system that has not allowed for the personal features that CiviCRM can offer.  A few questions:

We want to be able to generate Thank You letters that can be printed and snail mailed.  Obviously the email system can be easily done, but for the bulk of donations they will be via the mail after we call and receive a pledge.  What is the best procedure for this?  Export to Excel, run a Mail Merge?  How can we ensure the Contact is updated that "Thank You Note" was printed/mailed easily?

Many thanks and I am sure I will have other questions.  :)  -Nate

Hi Nate - on the demo you could try 'Find Contributions' then select a bunch and see if there is a 'print/email receipt' option under 'options' that would then let you create the PDF you need for printing purposes
