Customize registration pages in Joomla?
April 01, 2011, 12:41:40 pm
I am using CiviEvents to register Boyscouts for merit badge sessions at summer camp, using price lists.  The registration page shows all the price options at the top, and following that, the fields to fill in participants name, and this is pretty confusing.  (We offer lots of badges offered, so the contact information is only visible is you scroll way down.)

I found lots of information on how to create custom templates for Drupal, but none for Joomla (1.5).  Has anyone been able to do this?

customizing templates is the same for both drupal and joomla.

if you have specific questions about what you tried to do that in joomla that did not work, we could offer more specific help

I'm a complete newbie at CiviCRM, so I appreciate the help.  I am trying to follow the instructions in the wiki

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/Customize+Built in,+Profile,+Contribution+and+Event+Registration+Screens

I look at the source code for my page, and found the .tpl entry

 <!-- .tpl file invoked: CRM/Event/Form/Registration/Register.tpl. Call via form.tpl if we have a form in the page. -->
            <form  action="http://www.c****.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&amp;task=civicrm/event/register&amp;" method="post" name="Register" id="Register" enctype="multipart/form-data" >

There is no CRM folder on my web server.  I have searched through the Administrator and Components directory and can't find any .tpl files

I am a programmer, so I think if I can find these files I will have no trouble modifying them to make the tweaks I want.

Thanks in advance!
Alan

Look in administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/templates/CRM

Thanks Hershel, you rock!  I never drilled down that far.
