outbound smtp settings changes don't save
April 03, 2011, 02:24:01 pm
Hi,

I made a change to outbound smtp in global configuration.  Now I cannot change it back.  I can read the settings fine, but saving new options takes me to a 404 error.

Do other admin forms work? This sounds like you may be accessing your joomla site from 2 different URLs (e.g. http://www.mysite.org AND http://mysite.org). The CiviCRM settings file (civicrm.settings.php) can only store one "base URL" for your joomla site and you need to use that url consistently. There's some info on the wiki about using an apache redirect if you "need" to use different URLs for some reason.

I have two joomla installations.  One on the root (1.5) and one in a subdirectory (1.6).  The one I am working on is the 1.6.  the site is https
Yes some other joomla forms cause issue.  They redirect me to the root directory instead of continuing in the subdirectory so I end up at

ps://mydomain/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/manage&reset=1&

instead of
tps://mydomain/subdirectory/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/manage&reset=1&

when I add the subdirectory in the url, it gets me to the right page but without the administration header.

Thanks,
