Reporting Data Related to a Contact Reference field?
April 06, 2011, 05:29:32 am
Hi,

I've setup some custom fields as follows:

Dietary, Medical & Emergency
Field LabelData type
Medical Information NoteNote
Special Dietary RequirementsNote
Emergency Contact #1Contact Reference
Emergency Contact #2Contact Reference

I would like to be able to get a report of participants in an event which included their name, basic contact details, and this custom data...  but I would also like the report to include the main contact number of each of the two contacts referenced as emergency contacts #1 and #2.

Does this make sense and is it possible?

Many thanks,
Mark

a few questions:

1. How / where / when do participants fill in emergency contact info? am curious to see how you populate the contact reference fields.

2. Writing a custom report to display the below is possible. Some instructions on how to do so are here:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/CiviReport+structure+and+customization

Finally, there is a "Make It Happen" to allow folks to expose and restrict contact reference in profiles (and hence event reg pages). Details are here:

http://civicrm.org/mih#contactref

If you/your org can help make the above MIH happen, that would be awesome and help a lot!
