JS Sorting of Dates
April 06, 2011, 12:44:00 pm
On a Drupal / CiviCRM 3.3.5 site, the date sorting is not quite right, i.e. the sorting that happens when you click the header of a date field. It would appear to me that it's sorting alphabetically so you get this order:

December 3rd, 2010
December 30th, 2010
December 2nd, 2010

b/c alphabetically those are sorted descending. Given that they are dates, however, it's not correct.

There were few issues with with implementation of datatable plugin for reports, hence we have removed in 3.3.6 onwards.

I guess we will tackle this issue when we introduce sorting.

Could you detail? did use datatable to power reasonably complex table, and if you massage it enough, works well.

@hershel, you can  specify that it's a date column and if it's dd/mm or mm/dd and it filters ok.

To make it independent of the display format, you can add a plugin in datatable that sorts on a hidden data that is always in the same format YYYY-MM-DD.
