"Done but with errors" in IE, but not in Firefox
April 07, 2011, 05:41:38 am
I'm currently running CiviCRM on Drupal on my local machine and have not had any problems previously. Suddenly, not because of any uppgrades - cause it has worked before on current setup, I can't change certain things on any Individuals.

If I add a new Individual, or choose to edit an existing entry I can't add an extra field for phone, email etc. The IE Status Bar displays "Done but with errors" and on dubbel clicking that message I get the following message:

Webpage error details

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; InfoPath.2; .NET4.0C)
Timestamp: Thu, 7 Apr 2011 12:08:15 UTC

Message: 'tagName' is null or not an object
Line: 73
Char: 4
Code: 0
URI: http:// localhost /drupal/civicrm/contact/add&reset=1&ct=Individual

(I had to add spaces before/after "localhost" to get the forum to post my question (no "external links" allowed)

This error does not exist in Firefox... Of course I can "convert" and start using Firefox instead - but I feel a need for this to work in both browsers, since I of course plan to make this site public at some stage.

Please help me, I'm quite a novice when it comes to programming so please bear with me and give me details if you have any suggestions for solving this problem.

I am currently working with IE8 and that has never changed during my time working with CiviCRM.

Thanks in advance!

I can't say without examining your site what the issue is, but one approach to fixing this would be to upgrade your CiviCRM to the latest stable release. That might well fix it.

Thank you for your reply.
THat is on my to do list, only I'm to uncertain as to the steps of upgrading.... it was far easier to upgrade Drupal core... but I will get to it, I just need some support and I hope I'll find it soon. Until then I guess I'll be working in Firefox as a short term solution....

Hope the upgrade will solve the problem.
