Import fail: permission error on Upload folder
April 09, 2011, 09:54:54 pm
Is this is a misconfiguration or a bug?  A recent upgrade to 3.4.beta3 from 3.3.5 and suddenly I can't upload a .csv for import.  CSV uploads for import were working fine with 3.3.5 on my same install.  I haven't changed the settings that I can recall.

We could not move the uploaded file testing_county.csv to the upload directory . Please verify that the 'Temporary Files' setting points to a valid path which is writable by your web server.

See the attached image.  My dir is writable (I normally don't 777 it but just for debugging I did) but CiviCRM thinks it's not.

Can you try chmod -R 777 to files folder?

thanks - yes that fixed the problem, after that I switched back 'files' to 775 (its previous setting) and import continued to work.  must have reset something?  *shrug*
