Find Contributions question
January 05, 2008, 10:23:02 pm
I'm not sure if this has to be a job for Birt or not but, here goes....

I want to find contributions.   But in the export fields I'd like included some custom data fields to sort by later on in my spreadsheet program.

I see that the fields for export are pre-set and this how it is "at this time". Cool..will that change in 2.0?

I also see that the search builder includes contribution criteria to search by but after that you can't seem to to get any specific contribution dollar amounts into the export.  Is that right?

I was really psyched to see my custom groups and smart groups show up in the set-parameters-popup for the example Birt report called 'contactReport'.  But so far only the custom groups get pulled into the  report.   Nothing comes up for the smart-groups though. :(   Are there more stock reports floating around?

Any thought on this stuff?

Thanks!!

Peter

Yes. We do have some limitations for Search Builder and Export. You cannot do selective export for Component fields(i.e. Contribution)
Best way to export contributions is to use Export Contribution. Search Builder allows you to select contacts based on some specific Criteria and the export them.

The contribution export under CiviContribute >> Find Contributions includes any custom fields defined for Contributions. With the standard contact export - available from Find Contacts or Advanced Search -  you can choose the "Select fields for export" and then select custom fields to include in the export. Hence, you should be able to get your custom fields into your spreadsheet, or am I missing something ??

There are several sample reports in the Reports sub-dirs under your untarred install...
