Importing relationships but creates 'Employee of' instead - bug or mistake?
April 12, 2011, 12:11:48 pm
Hi,

I'm trying to import data into a clean system and getting a strange thing happening.

I've created a new relationship between individuals and organizations called 'Councillor for'/'Councillor is', I'm then mapping a field in the import to field in the drop down 'councillor for' --> 'External Identifier'.

It creates a relationship but the relationship is Employee for and it sets the current employer field too?

Seems as though it might be creating both relationships in most cases but not all??

Is this a bug anyone else has experienced, or have I misunderstood?

Cheers,

Dave

A bit more info..

Also creates 'employee of' for out of the box relationship 'Volunteer for' but does not create 'employee of' when using new relationship 'Patron of'

Strangely it is only the relationships with a '... for' on the individual side? Is this a red hearing.

I'm just testing what happens if I change the 'Volunteer for' to 'Volunteer of'...

... and it didn't create the 'Employee of' relationships - humm.

Can anyone confirm this bug (or explain the feature)

Cheers,

Dave
