Multiple Languages Support - SUPER privilege?
April 13, 2011, 02:06:01 am
Could this be why I can't install CiviCRM on my server?
What do I ask my server admin to change?

Multiple Languages Support
In order to use this functionality, the installation's database user must have privileges to create triggers (in MySQL 5.0 – and in MySQL 5.1 if binary logging is enabled – this means the SUPER privilege). This install either does not seem to have the required privilege enabled. (Multilingual support currenly cannot be enabled on installations with enabled logging.)

thank you
Michael

I can not tell you without any details why you can't install, but this actually is NOT a reason. The install process doesn't require or even allow multi-lingual features in CiviCRM. Those can only be enabled later. If you are having trouble just installing CiviCRM, let us know the details.

Hi,
I am just looking for any potential error messages from my installation.

I have tried for several weeks to find the problem and have had some replies to my posts but without finding a solution.
The exact same problem has now been shown to occur on 3 different servers.

The server admin has tried to help but need to know what to change.
The installation is a fresh installation of CiviCRM beta2 or 3 on a clean, new joomla 1.6.1 installation.

The only visible problem is the error messages at the top of the window under Localisation and Miscellaneous settings.
The installation appears to be fine otherwise.

I don't get the problem on my Mac using MAMP, only on the servers.
The server settings appears to comply with the requirement.
I didn't have any problems with joomla 1.5.22 and CiviCrm 3.5.

There must be something wrong with the installation file, or something very specific about the server requirement which is not obvious. I have written several posts about this problem in this forum.

I should also add that another person had the same problem a month ago using alpha1. I don't know if the problem was resolved.
I am happy to give access to the test site if someone can help.
thank you
Michael

can you give us ssh access as detailed in this wiki page:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC33/SSH+Access+Requirements

if so, please ping us on IRC and we can chat there and logon and debug the issue

thanx

The error codes seen on the localization page is just leftover debugging codes.
The problem will be fixed in the next release out shortly.
