Making a "New Contact" Dashlet

Hi,

is it possible to make a quick "New Contact" dashlet - so as far as I know - to use a New Contact Profile in the dashboard

It would be convinient to have a simple input form on the dashboard with just the basic input fields that are typically on a business card.

Not currently possible out of the box. However there are a few other dashlets that are NOT defined as reports (Activities dashlet for example), so there's potentially a model you can follow for creating this functionality. There's also been some discussion about replacing the existing "Quick Add" block ("New Individual")  - which is a hard-coded form - with the ability to put the New Individual profile (or other profiles) in a block.
