permissions to access user profiles (anon users)
April 15, 2011, 08:33:37 pm
I am having trouble with permissions for anonymous users to access user profile pages on a new D6.20 site with CiviCRM 3.3.6.

For example http://www.apfei.edu.au/user/ruth-walker returns 'You are not authorized to access this page.'

All roles can access the user profile pages, and I have the same permissions set for anonymous users as for authenticated users.

Might this be a CivCRM issue and not a Drupal issue?

This is a drupal issue. Check the permissions settings for the "user module" in the drupal permissions screen

Appreciate the reply. All roles have 'access user profiles' permission.

I have a second (unrelated?) Q. On the Drupal account creation page, CiviCRM account creation details are visible. I set this up some time back — can;t recall how to disable/restrict this based on role (after a 'user' becomes a 'member'). Anyone able to point me in the right direction here?

thanks

For the benefit of anyone who may come across this, I have resolved the second matter.

To remove (or enable) CiviCRM account details form the Drupal user registration page:

civicrm > administer > customise > CiviCRM Profile

Click 'settings' for name and address and deselect/select the 'Drupal User Registration' checkbox.

If you want these forms visible on a user edit page, this is where Drupal permissions come in. Enable
  • profile create
  • profile edit
I am still trying to resolve my initial issue (which is unrelated to CiviCRM)

I'm having the first issue as well - did you ever resolve it?

cheers
