BIRT: Report 'runability' in viewer vs. designer
January 07, 2008, 05:34:53 am
Some reports run in the viewer but not the designer. For instance, MembershipExpiration.rptdesign works in the birt viewer but in the designer the preview window shows this error:

Column binding "membership_type" has referred to a data set column "membership_type" which does not exist.

The connection to the database appears ok and the data set looks healthy. (no red x).

Has anyone seen this and solved it?

I have other examples too.

Thanks,
Peter

I am not an expert in Birt but you get this error usually when you change your data source. So you need to set that column again using editor.
This is pretty straight forward procedure using eclipse.
