I'm a veteran of web site design, but a complete n00b with Joomla and CiviCRM.  I'm trying to put a contact search on a front-facing web site.  I have a basic one for testing purposes, and it works.  I have a menu item that brings up the profile, and I can find contacts based on the fields I exposed.  I see the results in a grid of the few fields I selected.

However, I want to expose a search results profile that comes up when the user clicks <view> in the last column of the result row.  Right now, I end up right back at a blank search form, and I don't see any reference to using a "search results profile" in any other way than on the CiviCRM advanced search form (and I can do that).  Unfortunately, I don't want to expose CiviCRM to the world.

Update: I've found other references to similar problems and that this is a bug in v4.0 b3.  I also verified that I can "view" details from a search in Joomla 1.5 with CiviCRM 3.3.
