Desperately need help with civiEvent and civiContribute
April 21, 2011, 01:05:10 am
I have been trying to figure this problem our myself the whole afternoon and night. It's 3:15AM now and I still could not figure it out. I need to set up my site for registration of an upcoming event and also membership registration. It was planned to start the registration in two days. But now I found out the problem and could not figure it out yet. So, I am desperately asking for help. I am new to Joomla and civiCRM. Thanks in advance.

The problem I encountered is that both the civiEvent registration page and the civiContribute for membership registration don't work at my website. I always get this error message:

Note I removed "http" before all the urls below since the forum doesn't allow me to post external links

"Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

We can't load the requested web page. This page requires cookies to be enabled in your browser settings. Please check this setting and enable cookies (if they are not enabled). Then try again. If this error persists, contact the site administrator for assistance.

Site Administrators: This error may indicate that users are accessing this page using a domain or URL other than the configured Base URL. EXAMPLE: Base URL is //example.org, but some users are accessing the page via //www.example.org or a domain alias like //myotherexample.org.

Error type: Could not find a valid session key."

Any prompt response and solution to this would be highly appreciated. I planed to use the site for the event registration in two days later. Very urgent, thanks very very much!

changing the host name from A to B is considered a move. CiviCRM can and should do a lot better in handling such changes, but it currently does not (and patches are welcome to fix it)
