MySQL requirements for CiviCRM 4.0?
April 21, 2011, 10:17:53 am
I notice from the 'About' page that there are slightly conflicting specs re. MySQL version requirements, and I wonder if someone can clarify:

1. The most obvious statement calls for "MySQL 5.1.x+ with InnoDB support"

2. At the bottom of the same list we find this statement: "Multi-lingual features of CiviCRM require SUPER privileges in MySQL 5.0.x (to allow the use of TRIGGERS)" which implies 5.0.x will work.

The problem I have is that my personal staging server in on a shared hosting plan that is still running MySQL 5.0.91. My local dev environment is flexible - 5.1.x is already set up, but I can also switch to 5.0.x to match the staging environment.

Is there a definitive answer? (I haven't yet had to use multilingual features)

So I'm suspecting the "Upgrade Joomla Sites to 4.0" page, which indicates MySQL 5.0.x or higher, needs to be corrected to MySQL 5.1.x+?
