Monthly membership subscriptions - MIH?
April 21, 2011, 10:53:19 am
Hello,

Working with a couple of orgs that might be interested in funding monthly membership subscriptions.  I saw this post from 2009 (http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,7047.msg30980.html#msg30980) and wanted to check that there hasn't been any progress since then.

I also wanted to get an idea of how popular this would be, if any other orgs would be interested and if we could "make this happen".

I think that combined with a recurring payment processor (debit payment provider in the UK) this would be a killer feature.

From a chat in IRC it looks like this might have been funded already.  Checked out the issue and forum posts and it is looking quite hopeful

dlobo: michaelmcandrew: the membership to renewing contribution link is done and in 3.4
dlobo: it was an mih in 3.3 (i think)
michaelmcandrew: ok  'membership to renewing contribution link'?
michaelmcandrew: would that cover the following? ...
michaelmcandrew: someone can set up a membership which costs 120 a year, for example, and pays in 10 installments, and they get considered a current member, even though they have only paid a proportion of the annual membership fee?
dlobo: i think if u restucture the above as membership is $10/month
dlobo: and membership is monthly
dlobo: when the recurring contribution happens, it gets extended
michaelmcandrew: and that is new in 3.4?
dlobo: maybe a late 3.3.x series
michaelmcandrew: ok - cool - thanks - will check it out
michaelmcandrew: told someone at the training that it wasn't yet possible :s - will send them an email ...
