Ok, so it is difficult to word the topic but here is an explanation of what I am trying to accomplish. I created a Custom CiviCRM Profile with a bunch of custom fields. I grabbed the HTML and created a page that shows the form that can be filled out. For Drupal I chose all 4 options including "User Registration" under the Profile so when a user fills out the information they get added as a Drupal user and a Member of our group. With Joomla however the option of "User Registration" is not there and I was wondering if there is any way to get around that either via a hook, API, or a simple plugin that someone may know about.

Overall goal: Get a non-site, non-member user to fill out the application form and become a site(Joomla/Drupal) user as well as a CiviCRM Member within the Membership group that the Custom profile is linked to. Then at first they are a pending status for membership and once we approve of them and get the money we setup the fact that they are a member for a year or what not with annual dues. (I understand how to make Email templates and such to send out reminders for annual dues or confirmations that they are now a full paying member so no worries on that.) However another thing I want my users to be able to do is see their profile, and others (searchable) with all their information including the custom fields and allow them to change some of that info.

Is this all possible with Drupal built in and Joomla with a Hook, API, or plugin? If so, please let me know. If not, please suggest what you would do to make it a similar outcome.
