Any known issues with installing to Joomla 1.5?
January 09, 2008, 01:01:33 pm
I'm using the Joomla 1.5 frozen release branch.

When I "upload and install" the CiviCRM plugin (civicrm-1.9.12432-joomla-php5.zip), I get forwarded to the administration front end.  No error messages.

Has anyone else seen this or know what may be the cause?

The upload and install option rarely works. You need to separately upload the zip file to a temp directory, unzip it, and then use the install from directory option from within Joomla. I've had no problems using 1.5RC3/4 with CiviCRM.

Thanks - I'll try in the morning.
For some reason trying it that way rarely occurs to me.

Brian, are you using 2.0b?

I installed 2.0 alpha3 on a 1.5 installation (stable) and had no problems getting it up and running. But I haven't had much opportunity to really kick the tires.

I plan to do that over the next week (to the recently released beta).

Yes, it does require legacy mode.
And yes, I have been able to install 2.0b3 on Joomla 1.5 stable.

I've not run into any issues yet. But, I also haven't been able to kick the tires quite as diligently as I'd like. I hope to do that over the next week as I have a couple projects I'm working on that I'd like to have start out with 2.0.
