Trying to set up ACL, under Assign ACL role it states that:

Groups must be assigned the 'Access Control' type (Manage Groups » Settings) to be included in this list.

but under Manage groups, under Settings for the particular group, the only option for type is: Mailing list.

Has this changed in version 4?
How can I assign an ACL role?

@Lobo did this end up getting fixed in 4.0.1?  If not I can file the issue.
